The Top 3 irritants on the road

15Jul05

3) People who abruptly halt in the middle of the road in front of temples or other places of worship. Worse, you are expected to understand that as the cause is a noble one, one of a higher spiritual order, unremarkably quotidian affairs like a traffic snarl ought not to be considered. After all, what’s an accident or two in the pursuit of the spiritual ideal?

2) People who start honking madly whenever they find their way blocked by the vehicle in front, without for a moment trying to reason out what’s causing it.

1) People who flash their indicators nanoseconds before they make the turn. An action typical of the species of earnest, well-intentioned yet stupid people, sharing a common trait with so many people across the planet, that of doing things blindly without understanding the meaning, significance or impact of what they do, living their lives within their own circles, like frogs in a well.

    Quite true.
We can see every other rider travelling by road, comlaining loudly about any person who is blocking their way.

Not a day would have passed for a rider without complaing about the Auto drivers who display their talent in the traffic by zipping past every other vehicle held up in the traffic.
Most of the tamil movies will have atleast a single mention about the amazing talent and actions of an auto driver, but what they miss out is the shocking moment faced by every other rider in the road.

Soon we can see this amazing vehicle accross the globe and our dearest auto walas competing with the North Indian Taxi walas.

Every travel for a rider on Indian roads to their destination is an adventure trip and nothing less than a roller coaster ride.

“…an adventure trip and nothing less than a roller coaster ride.” đŸ˜‰

That may look like taking it a bit too far, but regrettably, is indeed true at times. Travel shouldn’t in itself ever be an ordeal. But there’s not much that can be done about it till this realisation dawns upon those who seem to be bent on proving otherwise.
